| This course was developed to give in-service technicians at all levels of experience
an overview of the OBD II system. This program introduces new technicians to the
concept of OBD II testing and provides the latest technology to advanced technicians.
Topics include: history of OBD I and II; SAE and EPA involvement, equipment, monitors,
trips, drive cycle and warm-up, readiness status, Diagnostic Trouble Codes (retrieving,
interpreting, and clearing), freeze frame data, malfunction indicator lamps, and generic
OBD II inspection.
